The new arrangement: Digital Moto Spezial combi instrument with analog display and integrated freely programable electronic ignition. Radio controlled clock with DCF77 receiver.
Silent Hektik regulator/rectifier
The integrated Silent Hektik voltage regulator/rectifier unit.

Front view. The rocker arms must be removed (red arrows) before disassembling the gears and timing chain for free movement of the cam.
The three gears and the chain can only be taken off simultaneously.
The alternator has already been pulled off and the timing cover removed.
rocker arms in a safe place
Each rocker arm assembly should be put away separately to assure that the matching parts are reassembled later.

The whole timing assembly, cam gear (top), crank gear (middle), oil pump gear (bottom), chain and original chain tensioner (far right, red arrow).
upper (cam and crank) gear
The two marks (red arrows) must face each other on reassembly to adjust for the correct valve timing.

Timing marks for the new ignition have been machined into the cam gear.
